Resumen
Integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into international education can be achieved effectively and inclusively. The emergence of internet-based audio and video communication platforms, now commonplace in education, has dispelled the misconception that virtual learning is ineffective. Through collaboration between geographically diverse universities, the GPE Global Partner in Education network has promoted its "Global Understanding" program among participating institutions. This program allows students to learn, understand, and research the SDG landscape not only in their own countries but also in others, recognizing both differences and similarities. The lessons learned over the past four years are shared as a best practice case at a university ESAN in Lima, Peru. Students at the Peruvian university, paired with counterparts from the United States, Mexico, and Colombia, studied SDG content and created outputs or outcomes related to the goals. These outputs aimed to raise awareness about the chosen goal in each team member's country. Students presented their work in various formats, including infographics, posters, speeches, newsletters, quizzes, podcasts, photo essays, social media campaigns, and identified differences and similarities of the SDGs' status in each partner country. Examples of these works are provided. Subsequently, a survey designed based on the study by Zamora-Polo et al. (2019) was conducted to assess students' knowledge of the SDGs. This survey explored students' knowledge of the goals and their main sources of information. While social media remains a prominent source of information for university students, the importance of universities as promoters of sustainability education is evident.
