Resumen
The theoretical framework defines digital competencies in a developing context. This highlights the need for companies to implement these competencies and their importance in digital transformation processes to gain competitiveness in their environment and to take advantage of market opportunities. The methodology used consisted of conducting different focus groups, with the participation of 120 executives from six LAC countries (Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, and Venezuela) and Spain. Regarding the findings, the importance of competencies to carry out digital transformation is presented; the three competencies that executives consider most important and the three least important in a digital transformation process are presented; and the competencies that executives would recommend adding to a list of the 28 predetermined digital competencies. For future research, there is room for descriptive research to confirm the findings of this exploratory research.
