| dc.description.abstract | One of the main problems arising from the exhaustion of the current IPV4 protocol is the limitations faced by companies and the significant expense associated with acquiring additional IPV4 protocol availability. Therefore, the study aimed to identify a balance between the IPV4 and IPV6 protocols, avoiding saturation of the current protocol and ensuring economic viability within the Peruvian context. On one hand, Peru has already approved a plan to migrate public entities to the IPV6 protocol. Similarly, the Public Ministry has approved Transition Plan No. 2028-2021-MP-FN. According to Lanic reports, Peru has already depleted 80 percent of the IPV4 addresses assigned to the country, with 20 percent being sold indiscriminately by registered Internet companies. The results from simulating the IPV6 WAN and IPV4 LAN protocols within an entity indicate an economic viability with a cost savings of 7.13 percent, a 200 percent increase in the availability of Public IP in WAN mode, and stability close to 100 percent using the Tunneling methodology. © 2024 IEEE. | |
