Automation of Vegetable Drip Irrigation using Arduino UNO in a Greenhouse in a High Andean Zone
    (2022-12-01) Cristian Y. Pachacute-Flores; Maria L. Chavez-Avila; Carlos D. Martinez-Ramirez; Deyby Huamanchahua
The use of technologies for the control and monitoring of industrial processes is growing. Thanks to the rise of artificial intelligence, the development of multiple automated systems is being promoted. This boom has also generated the existence of a competitive market, setting off the alarms in companies so that they increase their competitiveness and are aware that automation is an essential factor in Industry 4.0. The present project aims to address the implementation of an automated drip irrigation system using the Arduino UNO microcontroller in a greenhouse. The system will automate irrigation operations by employing temperature, float water level, and humidity sensors. The objective of automation is to increase productivity, reduce unnecessary water losses, ensure the effective use of water, and minimize costs. It should be emphasized that water is an increasingly scarce, limited, and costly resource, so it is essential to seek improvements in irrigation systems and practices. So, the automation of this system is designed to reduce the time and effort required by the user to irrigate the greenhouse; therefore, the implementation of this system will solve these problems and provide better control of the process. Finally, this system has been applied in a greenhouse in a high Andean area, in the Puno region of Peru, where greenhouses are gradually being used to grow crops that are not resistant to the intense cold of the area.

Many serious games have been developed over time to serve as support in the education of children with developmental disabilities. Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology whose popularity has been increasing, and many games are currently adopting it. Such innovation shows great potential to be applied in serious games. Therefore, this paper aims to explore the trends in the application of AR in serious games that enhance the education process of a child with a developmental disability. The objective is to supply the researcher with a structured table that incorporates key factors related to serious games. Multiple studies from 2016 to 2021 have been collected, and 15 were selected to be reviewed. Finally, it concludes that the results were positive regarding the effectiveness of the projects developed in the reviewed material, and there is still a lot of room for improvement and future work.

Implementation of an Augmented Reality Application to Improve Learning in Elementary School Children through Playful Games
    (2022-12-01) Deyby Huamanchahua; Guillermo Diaz-Beltran; Alvaro G. Trinidad-Palacios; Carlos M. Pajuelo-Ventocilla
The use of information technology has changed the way people learn and/or gain knowledge. People with various learning difficulties have greater difficulty in obtaining knowledge and learning. For this reason, the use of technology tools that help to improve this stage of human development is vital, especially for children and people with disabilities. The present research work aims to develop an application that uses augmented reality programming in the Unity development environment to facilitate learning about animals or the animal kingdom as a totality. For this purpose, we followed previously established steps to achieve the objective as well as the distribution of homework. The research was done on the background of the practice or development of this technology in basic education for children between 5 to 9 years old, then the active methodology of gamification for the development of the proposed application ZooAR was carried out to finally compare the differences of our application with the background obtained. It is expected that the development of this technology in different fields of education will be implemented in the future.
